Is this a good gaming computer to buy?

I don't know a thing about computers and no matter what anyone says, I WILL NOT BUILD MY OWN.

I've been searching for good computers and I came across alienware.

I usually don't buy huge brand names, since they are usually overpriced like crazy.

But this one didn't seem too bad..

Is it good? If I'm going to drop that much of my money I want able to run games like Battlefield 3, Sky rim, etc. at maxed settings.

And yes I am buying this myself, so I want an amazing computer for the amount of money I am planning to spend. Is this a good gaming computer to buy?
Well, it's not good compared to a Mac. There is more to a computer than just a bunch of parts thrown in a case. There is build quality, stability, user experience, and support. These are far more important to your enjoyment of the system than the specs on the outside of the box.Is this a good gaming computer to buy?
i HIGHLY recommend that you do not buy an Alienware as they are very unreliable, you're best bet is to build you're own PC,. or get one built for you at www.dinopc.com. I built my computer and it will run BF3 on Ultra at 80+ fps (The human eye can only detect 60fps) And it cost me 拢650 to buildIs this a good gaming computer to buy?
Desktop is better for gaming.

Buy a large led monitor.

By AMD phenom x4 processor and again AMD are good in gaming and for all use.

Motherboard supported 2 GB DDR 3 graphic card

8GB DDR 3 Ram

AMD x4 processor support motherboard like Gigabyte or Asus brand.

500GB hard disk sata like WD brand.

Normal keyboard and mouse.

A cabinet for hardware setup.

Just a person needs to fix and you can install Windows 7 OS. Then install the game and play it.
That's a terrible configuration for the amount they're charging. It's better suited to video editing work than gaming. It can't even run BF3 on low settings smoothly.

For gaming computers, the most important thing is to have a powerful graphics card. That's what determines about 70% of your overall performance in games. Having a really high-end CPU, lots of RAM or a massive hard drive are secondary, those can't make up for a weak graphics card.

That computer only has a GeForce GT 545 which is an OEM model ( only available on computers from major manufacturers like Dell, HP, Gateway, Sony etc). But in terms of performance it's just equivalent to $75 cards like the GeForce GT 440 and Radeon HD 6570. Any computer with such a high price tag should have at LEAST a $250 graphics card, like a GeForce GTX 560 Ti or Radeon HD 6950, and really should have something even better.

These are MUCH better gaming computers, which cost less:

However for the kind of money you're considering, you can put those computers to shame.

Since you don't want to build yourself, I recommend buying a custom computer direct from Cyberpower PC or Ibuypower. It's the next-best thing, you specify exactly which components you want, and they assemble the system for you.

I recommend starting here:

Choose the following upgrades:

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid-Tower

Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5

Power Supply: 850 Watts - Corsair CMPSU-850TXV2

Sound: Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Note: Stick with the Core i5 2500K as your processor, don't choose the Core i7 2600K. In games they perform identically so spending another $100 on the Core i7 is just wasting money. The Core i7 is geared more for professional design applications and movie editing workstations.

Your total before taxes/shipping - $1511

That build can play ALL games on maxed settings at 1080p resolution, even Battlefield 3!! It completely outclasses all of the pre-built systems linked earlier.

I didn't bother with a monitor or speakers. I don't know if you have those already and besides, Cyberpower's upgrade prices on those accessories are kinda high. Just order a nice 2.1 speaker set from Newegg for $25:
